This engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and delivers 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. Each trim comes with a front-wheel-drive system as standard, with an optional all-wheel-drive system available. The Equinox garners an EPA-estimated combined rating of 28 mpg.
On the 2022 Ford Escape, you have a few choices for your engine. Most trims come with a standard turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission that produces 181 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque. The Titanium has a 2.5-liter hybrid powertrain with 200 total system horsepower paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission. This engine is also available on the SE and SEL. On the SEL and Titanium, you can also get a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder for 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque.
Front-wheel drive is standard on the three-cylinder and hybrid engines. All-wheel drive is standard on the turbocharged four-cylinder and available on all other trims of the Escape. You can expect a combined EPA-estimated rating of 30 mpg on the 1.5-liter, 26 mpg on the 2.0-liter, and 41 mpg on the 2.5-liter hybrid.

Finally, the Infotainment II package adds a seven-speaker Bose premium sound and navigation system to your Premier.
For the 2022 Ford Escape, you get a six-speaker sound system, Wi-Fi hot spot, and a 4.2-inch central display screen on the S trim. Moving up to the SE adds keyless ignition and entry, satellite radio, two USB rear ports, and an 8-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. You can add the Co-Pilot 360 Assist+ package to get a navigation system or the Cold Weather package for a heated steering wheel and heated front seats.
The Confidence & Convenience package for the SE includes dual-zone automatic climate control, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a rear armrest. A panoramic sunroof is also available on the SE and above. The SEL features imitation leather upholstery. The Technology package adds driver’s seat memory settings, a wireless charging pad, and a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium stereo. On the Titanium, you get ambient lighting, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a power-adjustable passenger seat. The Titanium Elite package adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather upholstery, wireless charging pad, and Bang & Olufsen sound system.
